이 사진은 2004년 새해 첫날 아침 등산기념으로 찍은 사진이다. 마음에 수심이 가득했었지만, 정상에 올라가서 아래 세상을 내려다 보며 '그래, 이렇게 작은 곳에서 아둥바둥 사는게 인생이다. 더 높이 바라보고, 더 겸손한 마음으로 새로운 힘을 얻어 내려가자!' 했던 곳...
인생은 어쩌면 끊임없는 자아 반성, 자아 최면, 그리고 자아 발전을 필요로 하지않는지... 인생은 아마도 어제에서 배우고, 오늘을 감사하고, 내일을 계획하는 반복이 아닐까...? 이런 마음들이 요즘 많이 없어졌다. 바쁘다는 핑계로 자연은 점점 멀어지고, 기력은 쇠태하고, 마음은 약해지지는 않았는지... 하루빨리 다시 산을 오르고 싶어졌다!
This is the picture from January 2004 New Year's Day hiking event through Outdoors Club. The first photo of the year! Looking back, I was filled with confusions and discouragement, but this hike helped me to kick away some of those.
Reaching a summit of a mountain provides certain sense of contentment the mother-earth provides. This mysterious power of the nature heals the wounds, embraces my soul,and recharge my energy.
Reaching the top does not guarantee, however, that I could do the same tomorrow. Hiking is a journey, not a product! Life, likewise, is also a journey. What I've accomplished today will not be there forever nor the failures remain failed. Just like hiking, the solution lies within, and it is up to me to decide whether or not to continue walking the journey. Some rough, narrow roads and bad weather expected. Obstacles such as rocks and wild animals, even poisonous plants may get in the way. But it's one's determination to continue the journey that makes the difference.
I realize that life is all about repetitions and variations. It's a formula created to learn from the past, be thankful of today, and plan ahead for tomorrow.
